(Some folks have suggested or asked if I can write shorter blogs. Sounds like a challenge, so the next 2-3 blogs will be shorter, precise ones as an experiment. I know in this day and age people have so much data thrown at them via technology and it is hard to concentrate or go deep on any subject without getting distracted. Let’s see if I can help those of you in that predicament to bless you.)
For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he… – Proverbs 23:7
Our minds are “mission control” for all we do in this life. It is the foremost battleground for control in our lives. How we are taught, how we interpret our circumstances, and somewhat our natural DNA will greatly affect how we think and to what levels. It is also an interesting point that we don’t just think with our minds, but also with our hearts. Don’t totally ignore your feelings, emotion, or sensitivities while you are thinking.
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.” (Psalms 1:2)
On what do we spend most of our thinking time each day? The “news”? Our families? Our jobs or work? Obviously, we have to spend some time each day on work, family, and being informed…but I would suggest that while we do that we are always keeping God’s word in our hearts and minds in order to think correctly in the middle of ALL those tasks and activities.
“So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven…” (Matthew 10:32)
Once we know Jesus through His revelation in the Bible, we are then to confess and tell others of His ways and laws. His word is truth, and that truth must be confessed and spoken in order to have power and dominion over other voices and spirits of this world. What you think will soon come out in what you say.
Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” (John 14:21)
Very simply, obey and do what you think and say…based on God’s word.
