Issues of the Heart

(This is the outline that was flooding my mind upon waking today. You fill in the applications from YOUR life. I give some scriptural references if you dare look them up)

You worship me with your lips but your heart is far from me. (Matthew 15:8-9)

It is said “Your actions speak so loud I can’t hear what you say”.

Jesus’ main enemies while among us in the flesh were religious people who claimed holiness while covering up their sinful and egotistical, cold hearts of stone. (Matthew 12:33-34, John 1:11)

The Jewish people have wandered ever since God called them His Chosen people and they put Him to death when He fully revealed Himself in His Son. Yet they still claim they are seeking or worshipping Him. Have we crucified Christ lately with our own actions? (Hebrews 6:6)

Whatever is not of love is of sin. What we do is all about intent and motivation. (1 Corinthians 13)

Are we trying to impress others or God? Others may be impressed, but God is not. He knows all about us. Nothing is hidden from Him. (Matthew 6:5)

Do we wear a robe of righteousness to church, or do we come dirty, naked, and with a desire to come clean? Can we truly come “just as I am” to our Christian brethren and God, or do we play the game of piety and “holier than thou”? ( Romans 3:10-12, Hebrews 4:16)

Are we the wheat…or the “tare” (weeds pretending to be flowers)? Not all who claim it are “born again “. It is not something you claim, but something you live. (Matthew 13:24-30)

Love is not lip service, but heart service. (Jeremiah 29:13)

How do we change our hearts? We don’t…HE does. It is HIS works that count, not ours. We are simply to be imitators of Him. There is nothing original or prideful in imitating. (Ephesians 5:1-20)

Worshipping in spirit and in truth is about actions, not lip service. You can shout and proclaim all you want, but if your heart isn’t right, He won’t hear you. (Matthew 7:22-23)

HUMBLY open your heart and bring it (submit it) to Him. He is the healer of broken hearts. Your doctor can’t fix it. YOU can’t fix it. Only your maker can. (1 Peter 5:6, Psalm 139:23-24)

In conclusion, our prayer of the heart should be:

Psalm 51:10-12: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your holy spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit”.

Creo como humana que soy, soy debil y pecadora. Por eso necesito aferrarme mucho a El. Dios y pedirle fortaleza para dejar ir lo que no me conviene y los sentimientos obscuros en mi corazon y mente.
